Mathematics action at the TU Chemnitz: Register your team for the rally!

Chemnitz, Deutschland - On April 5, 2025, the 7th day of mathematics will take place at the Technical University of Chemnitz. Registration for the popular “team rally”, which is carried out as part of this event, is possible until March 20, 2025. The event is aimed at pupils in grades 8 to 9 and 10 to 12 and offers the opportunity to exist in teams or to participate as a lone fighter.

The "team rally" awarded the best five teams. Last year, 218 students from Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Ukraine took part in 57 teams. In addition to the rally, a public hands-on exhibition and training lectures for teachers are also offered, which makes the day a comprehensive experience for all those interested in mathematics. Admission is free.

A special highlight of the event is a plenary lecture that deals with the mathematics behind the weather forecast. In addition, there are various math laboratories with titles such as "AI laboratory", "frequency analysis" and "Origami". There are exciting, escape-room-like challenges for puzzle fans in the basement room.

The Technical University of Chemnitz organized the event excellently, as the previous competition as part of the "Day of Mathematics" shows, which took place on April 2, 2022 and was carried out with around 120 participants from all over Saxony. The competition dealt with the topic of Sierpinski triangle and offered interesting tasks as well as a final lecture on the fractal dimension.

Overall, the event was successful in 2022, also from a financial perspective. These positive experiences are reflected in the constant popularity of such competitions.
