The prevention mobile of the Chemnitz police counseling center will drive through the region again in the coming months to inform citizens about important security issues. Last year the mobile covered almost 2300 kilometers and stopped 34 stops. Around 1300 people were able to use personal consultations on topics such as burglary protection and road traffic. This initiative has proven to be extremely successful, such as
joint initiatives and events
The prevention tour is carried out in cooperation with the federal police and various savings banks, including the Sparkassen Chemnitz and Mittelachsen as well as the Sparkasse Erzgebirge district for the first time. This cooperation promotes information spread through security measures and strengthens the relationship between the police and the municipalities. There will also be a number of joint dates in Sparkassen branches in Geringswalde, Rechenberg-Bienenmühle, Annaberg-Buchholz and Zschopau.
In addition, a nationwide public campaign for burglary protection rounds off these measures, which has already played an important role in previous years. The campaign is supported by an annual "Burglary Protection Day", which is intended to raise awareness of the population. According to police-beratung.de , the number of burglaries that have increased again since 2009 could be reduced through extensive information and preventive measures.
The next stage of the prevention tour begins on May 24th at 10 a.m. on the market in Chemnitz and ends on August 10 at Gessingplatz in Olbernhau. The offer will not only increase the security of the citizens, but also improve the feeling of security in everyday life.
