Something is happening in the handball world! Next Wednesday, November 3rd, 2025, two Bundesliga heavyweights will face each other in the DHB Cup round of 16: THW Kiel and SG Flensburg-Handewitt. While Kiel faces HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, Flensburg meets TVB Stuttgart at the same time. So an exciting duel is coming up!
Both teams came up with something special to plan their journey to the game. In a clever move, they use a shared charter plane. This not only saves you money, but also valuable time. “Travelling together makes perfect sense,” says THW managing director Viktor Szilagyi. The concept enables short but effective preparation for the upcoming game, as the teams arrive on the day of the game and fly back immediately after the whistle. This also offers more time for players to regenerate.
Team travel plan
The flight will take place on Wednesday morning from Sønderborg, Denmark, and after landing in Stuttgart the players will stay in a day hotel where they can prepare for the game. They booked the return flight for Wednesday evening so that they could be home late in the evening. This efficient planning is not new; Both teams traveled together to the Supercup in Düsseldorf in 2020, which proved to be a successful strategy.
