Fighting spirit and drama: Lübeck wins late against Lohne 2-1!

On September 27, 2025, the eagerly awaited duel between Blau-Weiß Lohne and VfB Lübeck was scheduled for the Regionalliga Nord. A thrilling game unfolded in front of 780 enthusiastic spectators in Lohne, which ultimately produced a narrow but deserved winner.

The game started promisingly for the hosts. Jannik Zahmel gave Blau-Weiß Lohne a 1-0 lead in the 8th minute. However, this early joy only lasted for a short time, because VfB Lübeck didn't wait long: In the 35th minute, Antonio Verinac equalized and made it 1-1. The halftime score was therefore justified as both teams had chances to take the lead. Lohne's goalkeeper Dedovic made several good saves, while a few minutes after Verinac's goal, a good opportunity for Lohne was missed by Westendorf.

The crucial last minutes

In the second half, Lübeck took more and more control of the game. However, despite having more possession of the ball, they were unable to pose a threat for a long time. Another highlight was the large number of yellow cards that VfB received before half-time. Shortly after the hour, Verinac had a great chance, but Dedovic denied him.

The most exciting minutes of the game came in stoppage time. After a grueling and intense game, Dardan Karimani scored the redeeming 2-1 for Lübeck in the 90th minute. Lohne had another chance to save the tie in stoppage time through Helmdach, but missed. So the final score remained 2-1 for VfB Lübeck.

The table position

With this victory, Lübeck climbs to 6th place in the Regionalliga Nord and is back near the top positions with a total of 16 points, spread over 5 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats. For Lohne, however, the situation remains tense: They are in 15th place and are still struggling with the most goals conceded in the league, having already conceded a total of 29 goals. The record speaks for itself with 3 wins and 8 defeats.

For the upcoming games, Lohne will face SSV Jeddeloh II on Wednesday and Lübeck will face Werder Bremen's reserves on Tuesday evening. Both teams have a minimum of pressure, but Lohne in particular urgently needs to score points to avoid slipping further into the relegation zone.

The Regionalliga Nord is proving to be extremely competitive this season with 306 games planned, 88 of which have already been played. VfB Oldenburg leads the table and has gained a solid lead with 27 points from 10 games. Lohne, on the other hand, is going into the next challenges with a series of four games without a win and will have to gradually find a good hand in order to turn things around.

Overall, this encounter helps to increase the excitement in the league and prepare both players and fans for what lies ahead.
