Neustadt: Courage to start again – Free workshop for women!

An impressive workshop is on the program in Neustadt in Holstein on Thursday, July 10th: Under the title “Recipe for Getting Back to Work,” women from Ostholstein and the surrounding area have the opportunity to get started again after a professional break. The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the new meeting room of the town hall and offers participants the opportunity to develop strategies for their professional restart together with the experienced speaker Karen Ingber. The reporter reports that creative exercises, practical tips and an inspiring exchange will be the focus of the event.

Participation is free and is independent and confidential, which is particularly beneficial for women who may be skeptical about returning to work after a long break. The workshop is organized by Karen Ingber and Britta Müller from the Woman & Career Advice Center in cooperation with the equal opportunities officer Natalia von Levetzow. Places are limited, which is why early registration is recommended. Anyone interested can now register with Britta Müller on mobile number 0175/8930035 or by email to britta.mueller@faw.de.

A strong sign for women

The workshop offer fits perfectly with the action program “Equality in the labor market. Creating perspectives” (GAPS), which was launched by the Federal Ministry for Equal Opportunities in 2022. This aims to promote equal participation of women and men in the labor market and to support the sharing of work and family care work based on partnership. BMFSFJ emphasizes that the program also includes companies, associations and advice centers in order to give everyone involved a fair chance.

A particular focus is on independent livelihood and retirement security as well as the development of standards for equality in the digital working world. After the previous program “Perspective Re-entry” supported women returning to work after a family-related break from work from 2008 to 2021, the current program is aimed at a long-term solution.

Support offers in other federal states

But it's not just in Neustadt that women are given a helping hand. In Hesse, for example, there are various re-entry offers that specialize in supporting women after family or care phases. The website perspektiven-schaffen.de offers a comprehensive overview of information and advice offerings. Officers for equal opportunities in the labor market help returnees with special series of events on many relevant topics, such as pension issues or wage negotiations.

The “NeW Network Re-entry” in Hesse offers qualification offers, mentoring and coaching – all helpful instruments to make integration into the job easier. Such programs underline that targeted measures are being taken across the country to promote work-life balance.

With the workshop in Neustadt and the existing programs nationwide, a strong network has been created that supports women returning to working life. All those who set out to seize new perspectives and opportunities have a good hand!
