On Sunday, June 15th, Nortorf will be the venue for a colorful cycling event: TheBike Challenge Middle Holsteinis at the door. This event promises cycling enthusiasts a wide range of route options while bringing the region together. The different distances, which range from 50 to 204 kilometers, are aimed at both passionate cyclists and families who want to enjoy nature together.
The event is organized by RSG Center Nortorf, which already has some experience in organizing such large events. KN Online reports that Bernd Schmidt, the chairman of the RSG, promises a relaxed atmosphere without a competitive nature. This means there is no timekeeping and participants can ride at their own pace.
Various routes for every taste
The Bike Challenge offers five different tours:
- Radmarathon: 204 Kilometer
- Halbmarathon: 99 Kilometer
- Fitnessstrecke: 51 Kilometer
- Gravellissimo: 108 Kilometer
- Gravellini: 47 Kilometer
The new gravel routes, thatGravellissimoandGravellini, lead through the picturesque Aukrug Nature Park and are ideal for gravel fans. For families, there are also shorter tours of 26 and 13 kilometers, which are ideal for a relaxed trip.
Another nice feature of the event: After the tours, the popular band provides entertainmentLinewalkersfor musical entertainment. The starting point is in the Kramer barn, just 800 meters from the market square, and the start of CITY CYCLING in Nortorf is also celebrated here!
Registration and organization
Spontaneous registration is possible to take part in the Bike Challenge. The costs vary depending on the route between 8 and 25 euros, plus a late registration fee of 5 euros. Start times are planned between 7:30 a.m. for the cycling marathon and between 9 and 10 a.m. for the other routes. So far 150 participants have registered, but many more are expected to drop by at short notice.
Cyclists can find parking at the TUS sports center, at the community school and on the Kuckucksweg grass car park. There are also refreshment stations in Aukrug and Kellinghusen to keep participants energized.
