artists in focus

The sisters Claudia (*1964) and Julia Müller (*1965) have made an impressive career as an artist duo since 1992. Her work is characterized by a continuous expansion of the artistic representatives. From the initial focus on drawings, you have opened up a broad creative horizon and now use various media, including wall installations, textiles and digital formats.

exhibition concept and topics

The exhibition "Behind the Wall" was specially designed for the architecture of the city gallery. The installed fabric images act like guards that invite visitors to the atmospheric exhibition environment. The works address basic human relationships and social structures and invite the audience to think about intimacy and rejection. These topics are not only up -to -date, but also have a timeless relevance, which is shown in the artists' work over two decades.

registration and participation

For participation in the tour, a prior registration is required, which can be made by Saturday, August 10th at 4 p.m. to galerie@offenburg.de or by phone at 0781 82 2040. The fee for participation amounts to 7 euros that includes admission.

Invitation to argument

The exhibition of the Müller sisters encourages to look beyond the usual ways of thinking. By combining hard and soft contrasts in their works, they create a field of tension that can be experienced for visitors. The invitation to deal with the topics and the design language could initiate a deeper discussion in both the art scene and in broader society.

The municipal gallery Offenburg underlines its commitment to contemporary art with this event and promotes the exchange between artists and the public.
