Digital support for seniors: Emsland is breaking new ground!
On May 6, 2025, it was announced that the district of Emsland will receive a funding of 3,000 euros as part of the "Digital Pact Age" initiative. This initiative is supported by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and the Bagso (Federal Working Group on Senior Corporation). The aim of the digital pact age is to enable the digital participation for seniors and thus avoid their dependence in the digital world.
dr. Sigrid Kraujuttis, Social Affairs Director of the district of Emsland, emphasized the importance of media and technology pilots. The project "Media and Technology Personal (MTL)" offers older people support in dealing with digital media. The district has already mobilized 53 volunteer pilots who provide help in open office hours in several places. In addition, individual support is offered in your own four walls to facilitate access to digital technologies.
