Great Britain stops trading talks: Sanctions against Israel!

Gaza, Palästinensergebiete - The British government has now exposed to the admission of new free trade negotiations with Israel because of the ongoing military escalation in the Gaza conflict. This was officially announced after Great Britain, France and Canada of Israel's handling of the war in Gaza and the raids in the West Bank. Prime Minister Keir Strander expressed horrified about the developments, especially about the suffering of the children in Gaza, which he described as "completely unbearable" and called for a ceasefire. The Labor government sees itself under increasing pressure to stand up more for the Palestinians, while weekly “Stop the War” demonstrations bring thousands of protesters on the streets

.

Great Britain imposes further sanctions against illegal Israeli settlements in occupied West Bank, and British Foreign Minister David Lammy said that the existing trade agreements continue to apply, but no new discussions can be held as long as the Israeli government pursues “serious policies”. These measures follow the increasing violence of settlers against Palestinians, which is supported by the Israeli army. In the past few days, air strikes on Gaza had cost numerous civilians and the situation has drastically exaggerated, reporting that hundreds of Palestinians were killed under the bombing.

international reactions and auxiliary calls

The British Foreign Minister Lammy criticized the current offensive of the Israeli army as unsuitable for the resort of the remaining hostages. In addition, Israel had blocked the import of medical, food and fuel deliveries to Gaza, which prompted international experts to warn of threatening famine in the enclave. The British Foreign Minister calls for the immediate termination of the blockade of humanitarian aid and announced that Britain will impose additional sanctions against people and groups that exercise violence against Palestinian.

In this context, the UN Security Council passed a resolution that demands the immediate release of all hostages captured by Hamas and establishes urgent humanitarian corridors for the civilian population in Gaza. The resolution, which was accepted after several failed attempts, calls for "urgent and extended humanitarian breaks and corridors" to ensure quick and unimpeded access for UN organizations. UN-NOTILFECORORINATOR Martin Griffiths presented a 10-point plan, which, among other things, provides for the expansion of the aid deliveries and the release of the hostages

.

The Israeli government reacted to the British sanctions by describing them as "illegal and unfortunate". While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that Israel is "war of civilization against barbarism" and would defend himself until a "total victory", he renewed his endeavor to take control of Gaza.

The continuing violence in conflict and international reactions give the reason to concern about the situation in the region and the humanitarian conditions of the civilian population. It remains to be seen whether further diplomatic efforts will lead to de -escalation.
