New waste disposal company in Friesland: Augustin brings biogas solution!

The waste disposal in the Friesland district will be reorganized from May 2, 2025. The Augustin disposal Friesland takes responsibility for waste disposal in the municipalities of Bockhorn, Zetel and Varel. This was announced in a current notification in which changes regarding the removal days are also pointed out.

Augustin disposal will also be responsible for the removal of paper and large containers. Despite the takeover, the removal days remain unchanged, but time deviations cannot be ruled out. Those responsible recommend providing the waste containers at 6:00 a.m. on the day off at 6 a.m. at the latest. before, from January 1, 2025, Augustin disposal will also operate the waste handling system on Wangerooge and the recycling center in Varel. This is the result of a decision of the district council of March 13, 2024. The Augustin company has prevailed against competitors in the award procedure and has been carrying out removal, bio -waste and paper since 2015, partly also by subcontractor.

Another important feature of the new waste disposal is the environmentally friendly approach: from 2025, all Augustin vehicles will be operated 100 percent with biogas. These vehicles correspond to the requirements of the law on the procurement of clean road vehicles, and it is important to transport waste as close as possible to the disposal systems. This should contribute to reducing the CO2 record of the waste disposal in the Friesland district.
