Challenges and Success in the preparation of Frisch on Göppingen
Preparation for the new handball season brings with it both major challenges and promising developments. At Frisch on Göppingen, those responsible chose an integrative approach to quickly integrate a large number of new players into the team.
Integration as a key to success
Ben Matschke, the new coach of Frisch, emphasized the rapid integration of seven new players in the first few weeks of preparation. "The integration process has progressed as quickly as I would not have expected," explains Matschke. The team chemistry seems to be right: the players work well together and promote communication inside and outside of training. "They laugh a lot and do a lot outside of the hall," reports the trainer. This shows how important social cohesion is for the team to be successful in the coming season.
dealing with challenges
The preparatory period that began on July 17 presented the team with some challenges, especially in the form of high temperatures. Matschke notes: "As for everyone here in the region, we also have to struggle with the very high temperatures." Despite these circumstances, the team trained intensively, often twice a day, to develop both athletic and technical skills. "We worked a lot in the speed area," says the trainer.
Test games and tournament participation
Frisch on Göppingen has already completed four test games and a training camp. An upcoming highlight is the participation in the S-Cup in Altensteig, in which the team meets various opponents, including the third division club Pforzheim/Eutingen and possibly the first division relegation HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. "Altensteig is very important for the middle of the preparation," emphasizes Matschke. Here the team is not only challenged, but also have the opportunity to combine intensive training sessions with video analyzes and individual conversations.
a setback and the next steps
A setback for fresh was the injury of playmaker Ludvig Hallbäck, who contracted an inner ligament injury in the test game against HSC 2000 Coburg. This injury will put him out of action for several weeks, which is a challenge for the team.
Overall, the efforts of Ben Matschke and the team show that despite the challenges there is a positive development in the team structure. The upcoming events, including the Players' Night and the exciting opening of the season, offer good opportunities to present the team to the fans and create the basis for a successful season.
