Experience a work of art: why the way is worthwhile despite the effort
Experience a work of art: why the way is worthwhile despite the effort
In a remarkable year for the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, two outstanding personalities from the region received deserved recognition for their contributions to art and culture. An impressive program was organized both in Stavenhagen and in Greifswald to celebrate the legacy of Fritz Reuter and Caspar David Friedrich. These events not only reminded of the great works of the two artists, but also highlighted the cultural identity of the region.
In Stavenhagen, impressive festivities were held that ranged from readings, musical performances to a play. At the same time, Greifswald experienced a wave of activities around Caspar David Friedrich, including special exhibitions and city betting, which demonstrated the city's commitment to their most famous son. In particular, the return of the famous painting "Kreidefelsen on Rügen" to the museum attracted the attention of the art lovers.
art and emotions
The anticipation for the possibility of personally looking at the image was shared by some in my circle of acquaintances, but there were also critical voices. An example is my own wife, which describes access to works of art through modern technologies as easier. "You can take a look at Google much easier," she replied with a touch of irony. In theory, of course, she is right. Looking at an image online offers many advantages: good resolution, detailed views and access at any time.
But the true essence of experiencing a work of art or the atmosphere of a sporting event cannot be easily recorded by facts or pictures one to one. One cannot replace the feeling that gives you a stadium visit or the sight of a masterpiece with media technology. It is an experience that goes beyond knowledge and touches us emotionally.
Whether it is about visiting a historical place, looking at art or conversation about life-all of these experiences require a certain level of effort. Leaving your own comfort zone can be intimidating and often leads to inner doubts. One wonders whether the effort is worth the trip, the meeting or the experience. From approach to return, it may be difficult to motivate yourself.
obligation to develop
Nevertheless, I am convinced that there is an obligation to motivate yourself and to use the opportunities for personal development if you are able to do so. We live in a privileged society where art and culture flourish, and this is a wealth that we should not take a matter of course. With a view to the inheritance of past generations and the diverse offer in our area, we should be inspired and actively participate.
The words of the psalm 103 remind: "Praise the Lord my soul, and do not forget what he did good to you." This message encourages us to appreciate the values and beauties to appreciate us and to meet them with a corresponding recognition. It is this gratitude that motivates us to have new experiences and to celebrate the cultural diversity that enriches our lives.
In this sense, I wish everyone that they find the strength to get up and enjoy the beautiful moments of life. Celebrate the culture, visit the museums and be inspired by the world of artists!
