In the state capital of Hanover in Lower Saxony, a significant redesign of Ernst August Platz is imminent. The building committee recently unanimously spoke together with representatives of the SPD, CDU and FDP to make the station forecourt more attractive, cleaner and safer. This represents an important step in urban planning and could significantly improve the quality of life in the city center.

The suggestions stipulate that the areas for cars, e-scooters and bicycles are reduced on the square. This could lead to pedestrians and cyclists available more space and are therefore more secure. Another central element of planning is a fully automated bicycle parking house that is to be built under the main train station. This measure could not only improve the bicycle infrastructure in Hanover, but also promote the use of environmentally friendly transport.
