Kassel (ots)-In the night from Friday to Saturday there was a break-in in an optician shop in Wilhelmsstrasse, Kassel-Mitte around 2:20 a.m. The perpetrator, a 63-year-old man from Kassel, tried to punch the window of a paving stone and reach into the display. high property damage and alleged prey

Although the perpetrator could not steal glasses, he still left a significant property damage of around 5,000 euros by the damaged disc. However, the importance of this incident extends beyond the financial loss because it can affect the feeling of security in the neighborhood. Civil vigilance plays a crucial role in the fight against crime, especially in urban areas.

attentive witnesses as the key to arrest

Two passers -by who observed the incident reacted quickly and informed the police. Their descriptions of the perpetrator led police officers to arrest the suspect 100 meters from the crime scene. This underlines how important the cooperation between citizens and the police is to prevent and clarify such incidents.

earlier crime of the accused

The arrested man, who is already known for ownership and drug offenses, wore high-quality sunglasses during the incident, which raised the suspicion of also coming from theft. The investigation caused by the Commissioner 21/22 of the Kasseler Kripo should clarify whether it was also involved in other burglaries.

conclusion: Community as a safe strength

This incident shows that the fight against crime is not only the task of the police, but also requires the attention and commitment of the citizens. A united approach can help prevent crimes and increase security in the community. A protective environment can be the result of an active participation of all residents in securing their surroundings.
