Treasure in the Westerwald: 2490 Roman coins discovered!
Westerwaldkreis, Deutschland - In the Westerwaldkreis, a probe -owner discovered a remarkable treasure: 2,490 Roman coins from the time of the Roman Empire! The find was made in February 2024, but has only now been announced. The State Archeology of Koblenz examines the coins found in a background under the surface of the forest. Timo Lang, head of the Koblenz branch, emphasizes the historical importance of the find, although the material value is not high.
The evaluation of the coins is complex and time-consuming, since in addition to scientific CT examinations, CT examinations are also used. Experts suspect that the coins may have been hidden as bribery or prey because the site is almost 20 km northeast of the Lime, i.e. outside the Roman Empire. An exhibition of the coins is planned, but the exact time has not yet been determined. You can find more information about this exciting find here .
