Traffic accident escape in Koblenz: Witnesses wanted for property damage

Koblenz, a city full of activities and events, has offered boting curvy traffic notes and a strange incident at the main train station in the past few days. While the residents take their everyday ways, the public transport network and security were once again put to the test.

In the night of September 4, 2024, around 1:30 a.m., there was an unfortunate traffic accident in Hoevelstrasse, more precisely at number 26. A driver who apparently lost control of his vehicle drove off the Behringstrasse in a left turn and crashed into a parked car. The impact was so violent that the parked vehicle suffered a total of economic damage in the five -digit range.

Despite the considerable damage to the parked vehicle, the person causing the accident did not allow himself to be worried. He disappeared towards Bardelebenstraße/Lindenstraße without fulfilling his duties as a driver. The police have now focused on the case and is urgently looking for witnesses who can provide information about the driver or the action. Based on the traces at the scene, it can be assumed that the car's car should be noticeably damaged on the right side. Witnesses can contact police inspection 1 in Koblenz on 0261/92156-300 or by email to pikoblenz1@polizei.rlp.de.

But the incidents in Koblenz are not limited to road traffic. On the same day, but already in the afternoon, another remarkable event in the region occurred. Around 2:00 p.m. there was a joint bus in Niederlahnstein, directly in the curve to the Lahnbrücke due to a technical defect. A towing service was needed to remove the vehicle from the road. During the rescue work, the police led the traffic in a single lane around the bus, which led to considerable traffic disruptions in this busy area. Drivers were informed about the situation by the traffic warning radio.

The joint bus in question was towed at 3:30 p.m. so that the road conditions could be normalized again and the traffic could be released in both directions.

A third thing that draws attention to Koblenz took place on the night of September 3, 2024 when the federal police temporarily arrested a 26-year-old at the main train station. Two travelers complained about the suspicion of having excited a public annoyance who observed the man in the person tunnel. Fortunately, there were several passers -by nearby, so that the incident was quickly discussed.

The police measures included the initiation of criminal proceedings for excitation of public annoyance. After completing these measures, the man of the station was expelled, and everyday life could continue for the other travelers.
