Take a face for democracy in Ludwigshafen!
Take a face for democracy in Ludwigshafen!
For the promotion of democracy, the photographer Thomas Brenner has launched a remarkable photo campaign that is very popular in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. With the title "Democracy - Acceptance - Diversity", Brenner wants to encourage citizens to show a face for democracy. This is done by a creative photo project that wants to bring together people who actively identify with the values of democracy.
Aktuell is looking for a participant for a large photo shoot in Ludwigshafen, which takes place on September 19 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the Apostelkirche (Rohrlachstraße 70, Hemshof). As part of this campaign, the participants have the opportunity to be photographed against a white background. This event is part of a larger poster campaign that aims to show the acceptance and diversity of opinions and identities and thereby set a sign against the strengthening right rate in Germany and Europe.
participate and design
In total, Brenner has already portrayed over 1200 faces from the region. Ludwigshafen is the twelfth location for this important project. The participants can select their favorite picture from a selection of portrait images and are asked to select a title for their picture. You have the choice of 15 different suggestions or the opportunity to formulate your own title.
Every person who can be photographed is visible on the posters with their first name and their personal name in relation to democracy, be it as a democracy lover, fighter, friend, sponsor or protector. These personalized posters should serve as an impetus to think and initiate real conversations about the importance of democracy in the community.
A week after the photo shoot, a final coordination is carried out on the image selection. In addition to the memories held, the participants receive their personal pictures both as printed out posters and in digital form. In addition, the results are published on the project website www. Democracy-Aceptanzweilheit.de, which also presented the photos in larger cities such as Mainz, Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern.
Another date in the adult education center
In addition to the event in the Apostle Church, Brenner plans another shoot on November 13th in the Bürgerhof, during the 30th anniversary of the Council for Crime Marriage. Here other interested parties can shape their picture for democracy and show which values are important to them.
The entire photo campaign is supported by numerous institutions, including the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, the district association Pfalz, the State Center for Political Education, the Protestant Church for Ludwigshafen as well as the adult education center of the city of Ludwigshafen and the initiative "Local Agenda 21 Ludwigshafen". This broad support underlines the social relevance of this initiative and the common will to give a strong commitment to democracy.
at a time when social values are increasingly under pressure, Thomas Brenner shows through his work how important it is to actively stand up for democracy. Every person counts, and by participating in this action you can make your own contribution and at the same time set a visible sign of diversity and acceptance.
