Personal bottleneck tightens road damage in Ludwigshafen - is improvement in sight?
In Ludwigshafen, serious road damage occurs again and again, which not only endanger the safety of road users, but also indicate serious personnel problems within the city administration. This became clear in a meeting of the building and property committee when the administration reacted to a request from the FWG. She reported that several streets in the urban area are currently urgently needed.
Currently six roads are so badly damaged in the urban area that their closure is essential. Among other things, the Windthorststraße on the corner of Jakobsweg in Oppau and the Mohnstrasse between Berg- and Windestrasse in Maudach are affected. Lausitzer Straße in Gartenstadt and Bahnhofstrasse in the city center also suffered under considerable defects. In addition, the Riedsaumstraße and Sonnenstraße in Friesenheim are also on the list of streets affected.
responsibilities and measures
The administration has clearly demonstrated how the damage is fixed: Depending on the severity of the defects, either the municipal business (WBL) or a commissioned company is entrusted with the repair. Damage outside the civil engineering area, such as water pipes or state roads, are reported to the corresponding areas. The WBL is equipped with a team, including a department head, and employs a total of 44 people in order to remove selective damage as soon as possible.
In order to avoid future damage, the city of Ludwigshafen plans to intensify the so -called road preservation management. This includes measures such as the camera monitoring of the sewer network. A total of six positions are available for this task, but currently only two are occupied. A need determination has shown that ten jobs would actually be necessary to ensure effective management.
These personnel bottlenecks in the city administration are problematic for several reasons. They not only lead to delays in the necessary repairs, but can also endanger the safety of pedestrians and drivers. In times when street infrastructure is particularly susceptible to damage caused by weather conditions and traffic, the city administration perceives the lack of qualified staff as alarming.
The situation in Ludwigshafen reflects a bigger problem that affects many cities. The lack of specialists in the public service not only represents an obstacle to the maintenance of urban infrastructure, but also influences the general quality of life of the residents. The city administration therefore sees itself as a duty to take measures to increase the staff and to improve road maintenance promptly.
In summary, it can be said that the streets in Ludwigshafen urgently need attention. The combination of acute damage and lack of personnel is a challenge that requires both short -term and long -term solutions. The citizens of the city are now waiting for the necessary steps to remedy these problems to ensure a safe and well -maintained infrastructure.
