ADAC Air Rescue Schults Life -saving maneuvers in Neustadt

In Neustadt in Holstein, an important training cycle of the ADAC air rescue is currently taking place. The rescue teams practice maneuvers over several days to optimally prepare for different emergency scenarios. This training includes extraordinary outdoor landings on a company own site and on a former naval tower in Pelzerhaken.

The exercises are designed to train the trained emergency services when dealing with the rescue winch. A rescue dummy is also used to simulate the realistic rescue scenarios. The location of the exercises was strategically set up on a meadow of a wind power company, where a suitable operating warehouse was provided for the teams.

practical training and team communication

An outstanding aspect of the training is the use of the rescue winch. In the maneuvers, one or two emergency doctors are roped, which then safely bring the "injured" - in this case depicted by a dummy - safely on board the helicopter. These use scenarios are specially designed to improve cooperation and communication between the various team members. The effective communication between the pilot, captain and wind operator is crucial to carry out smooth rescue operations.

According to Stephan Brade, an experienced air savior, the ADAC has a total of 38 rescue stations across Germany and can access a fleet of 50 helicopters. This flexibility is important because if a helicopter fails, replacement devices can be made ready for use within a few hours. This high availability of assistance is a central component of air rescue in Germany and ensures that the emergency services can react quickly and effectively to emergencies.

The urgency of such training is underlined by the multitude of possible use scenarios. Whether it is about saving people at sea or on inaccessible terrain, the crew must be able to react quickly and precisely. The exercises in Neustadt in Holstein show how important it is to continuously improve and adapt the skills and teamwork in life -saving situations.
