Young reporters show Emden's diversity: completion of the Zisch project!

In Emden, the project "Zeitung in School" (Zisch) recently took place, which was celebrated by a final event in the Festival House on Wall. More than 250 students from vocational schools I, IGS Emden and the Herrentor high school actively took part. The young people wrote dozens of articles on a variety of topics that ranged from reporting to a hairdresser in the hospice to conflicts with organ and bone marrow donations.

The other deals with the other dealt with included future questions such as artificial intelligence and social networks, as well as important social discussions about racism, bullying and catcalling. In addition, book tips and information for healthy eating were given, while classical literature such as "Emilia Galotti" from Lessing also found support. The teachers accompanied the students in media education, and the event ended with a lot of applause for the committed participants.

Promotion of media literacy through further projects

The school project "Zeitung in School" (Zisch) is also offered for the school year 2024/2025. This project, which is supported by the Augsburg Allgemeine and the Allgäuer Zeitung, has the goal of promoting the reading and media literacy of children and adolescents. Media literacy is crucial to better classify and master the daily flood of information.

Zisch offers teachers elaborated work proposals for lessons and supports a cross -subject and individual commitment. A digital introductory seminar for teachers available for registration is planned for Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The feedback from teachers and students on previous projects was consistently positive, with schoolchildren dealing intensively with current topics and increasing their interest in regional and national events.
