Last premiere: Four dancers in Lüneburg's dance 2!

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the Theater Lüneburg invites you to the premiere of "Tanzwelten 2", a special evening that celebrates the artistic diversity of contemporary dance. Ballet director Olaf Schmidt has invited the choreographers Michael Langeneckert and Giovanni Napoli, each of which develops new pieces with the dancers of the company.

"dancing 2" marks a remarkable opportunity because four members of the company will dance their last Lüneburg premiere. This includes Phong Le Than, who is at the end of his career after being part of the ensemble since 2014. Rhea Gubler will take a Sabbath year while Irene La Monaca and Samuël Dorn want to reorient themselves.

new choreographies in focus

The program includes the premieres of Langeneckert's play "The Games People Play", which addresses interpersonal relationships and roles such as victims, rescuers and persecuted. The associated music comes from Kai Stratmann. Giovanni Napoli will shed light on the questions of self -image in a visual world with his work "The Paradox of Being", while Giuseppe Villarosa contributes to the music. Both contributions are designed for about 25 minutes, with breaks between the pieces.

Olaf Schmidt will present a kind of "Best of" of his previous works for the final, including excerpts from productions such as "three sisters", "wing strike", "room", "Green Light" and "Hywood". As Landeszeitung.de reported, only a few tickets are available for the premiere and other performances are planned by June 20, 2025

The organizers emphasize that the success of "dancing" is based in autumn 2023 on the artistic range of contemporary dance and the Lüneburg ballet. Michael Langeneckert and Giovanni Napoli thus bring a fresh perspective to the choreographies that are supposed to inspire the audience, as well as theater-lueneburg.de emphasized.
