244 young readers from Ganderkesee celebrate the successful reading summer
Community promotes reading pleasure in Ganderkesee
in the municipality of Ganderkesee and the nearby Bookholzberg branch was a remarkable increase in reading interest among children during the summer holidays. A special project, called "my reading summer", motivated the participants in an impressive way.

The 244 children, including 81 boys and 163 girls aged eight to 13, receivedat the final party of this initiative event, not only gifts, but also certificates that confirmed their participation. Meike Saalfeld from the municipal administration emphasized that the participating children "devoured" astonishing 2347 books this summer vacation. Each child was encouraged to make a short book review and a description of the main character, which contributed to strengthening their reading skills.

The success of the project lies in the promotion of reading skills and the creativity of the children. By reading books and writing reviews, they learned to deal with stories more intensively and use their imagination. This initiative not only contributes to an improvement in language skills, but also promotes social interaction, since the children in the cafeteria on the Steinacker were also able to go through playful stations.
