Berlin, Deutschland - In a dazzling ceremony in Berlin, RIMOWA celebrated the winners of the third RIMOWA Design Prize, awarding seven innovative projects that demonstrated exceptional creativity and functionality. The coveted first-place prize of €20,000 went to Elisabeth Lorenz and Marc Hackländer from the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd for their groundbreaking wearable device, „hottie,“ which combines TENS technology and heat therapy to empower individuals experiencing menstrual discomfort. A special mention was given to Tom Kemter and Niels Cremer from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for their inventive crutch design, „Standalone,“ redefining mobility aids into empowering tools.

Each finalist, selected by a distinguished jury, made a significant impact with their projects. Notable entries included Jonas Krämer’s „Compath,“ a wearable aid for those with dementia, and Marius Kintzel’s „TONBO,“ an eco-friendly hand truck designed for enhanced usability. The prize’s commitment to innovation was palpable as RIMOWA, renowned for its premium luggage, continues to shape the future of design.
