Insolvency shock in Rendsburg: Werften fight for survival!
The bankruptcy of the Nobiskrug shipyard in Rendsburg caused great concern in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde region on February 3, 2025. This incident falls into the time of the upcoming Bundestag election, which will take place on February 23. The direct candidates from the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district, including Felix Wilsberg (SPD), Dr. Johann WadePhul (CDU), Monika Wegener (Greens), Wolfgang Kubicki (FDP), Gereon Bollmann (AfD), Maylis Roßberg (SSW) and Mark Hintz (left), have expressed their statements on strengthening the economy in the region.
In addition to the Nobiskrug shipyard, the FSG shipyard in Flensburg also had to register bankruptcy. These applications did not come from the investor Lars Windhorst, but from the social security institutions. FSG-Nobiskrug Holding GmbH and the subsidiaries Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft, FSG-Nobiskrug Design GmbH and Nobiskrug Yachts GmbH are affected. Lars Windhorst, who was most recently registered as managing director, presented a new management six months ago. Christoph Morgen and Hendrik Gittermann were employed as preliminary insolvency administrators.financial difficulties and support
The situation is alarming: wages and salaries have not been paid for 14 days, and social security taxes have not been paid. In addition, annual financial statements have not been created in over two years. The November salaries are to be paid by the beginning of next week. Talks are currently underway with banks about a mass loan for urgent expenses. Over 150 enforcement orders are available and the search for investors should be completed by the end of January, while the bankruptcy proceedings are to be opened in early February.
In the efforts to be a solution to the shipyards, Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck is also involved, who has announced support in the search for potential investors. Despite the difficulties, there are positive signals: works councils express relief about the bankruptcy and the possibility of a realignment. Lars Windhorst explained that he would like to stick to the renovation of the shipyards. The state government and the opposition are calling for a quick action to secure the best possible solution for the company and the employees.
