In the desert, the fates of three young people are connected in a tragic way. Two women and the friend of one of the two women are kidnapped and captured by a wealthy and influential man who wants to win the second woman whose lover is to save her. The lover tries to free his partner and her companions with great risks, but plunges into misfortune in a desperate attempt. The impending punishments you expect range from beheading to execution, and the question remains: is there a way out to buy yourself free? The story takes an unexpected turn ...

This gripping narrative is part of a unique artistic project that is presented on the Swabian classical stars. This concert series brings a very special performance to the stage in September. A concert representation by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Singspiel "The kidnapping from the Serail" will be experienced, which is not only enthusiastic about music, but also with a continuous story.

The actors and their roles

In this fascinating performance, the audience is kidnapped into deep human emotions and power games. Five talented soloists are on stage and give life with their impressive voices: the lovers Constanze and Belmonte as well as blonde and pedrillo come to life, while the brutal supervisor Osmin masters the scene. Particularly noteworthy is the actor Lutz Schumacher, who not only tells, but also embodies the role of the tyrannical kidnapper Bassa Selim.

The work that was created in the late 18th century addresses the balance of power and the moral responsibility of those who lead. It illuminates how life in a society characterized by power structures depends on the decisions of the powerful, which are often guided by stupidity and vanity. Today, this topic has lost none of its topicality and is underlined by Mozart's fantastic music, which is both emotionally and urgently.
