Tölzer Löwen celebrate with a 7-2 win against Lindau – strong performance!

On December 26, 2025, the Tölzer Löwen met the EV Lindau Islanders in an exciting league game. With an atmospheric crowd of 1,607 fans in the Hacker-Pschorr-Arena in Bad Tölz, coach Axel Kammerer's team defeated the guests from Lindau 7-2.

The game started off strong for the Islanders. Eetu Elo made it 1-0 in the power play in the 7th minute. But the lions didn't take long to ask. Karel Klikorka equalized in the 10th minute and Christoph Fischhaber gave the Tölz team a 2-1 lead shortly before the first break. Coach Kammerer described this break as “lucky” after the Lions were by no means dominant in the first half.

Decisive turn in the second third

The Lions really turned up the heat in the second third: Ludwig Nirschl scored two goals (21st and 26th minute) and brought the score to 4-1. This was the turning point that noticeably weakened the Islanders. Even though Fabian Baßler reduced the score to 2:4 in the 31st minute, Tölz retained the upper hand and further extended the lead. Michael Keränen and Nicolas Sauer also got on the scorers list and their goals put the final point in a game that the Tölzer Löwen had firmly under control.

Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Ludwig Nirschl, who was involved in six of the Lions' seven goals. The goalkeeper Matthias Bittner kept the goal clean with strong saves and made a significant contribution to the victory. Lindau, on the other hand, was unlucky, hit the post twice and got out of the flow with a few penalties.

A look at the table and upcoming challenges

With this victory, the Tölzer Löwen defend third place in the league and thus consolidate their ambitions for the playoffs. In the Oberliga, the third highest ice hockey division in Germany, such victories count in order to ultimately get into the two groups for the championship and, if necessary, aim for promotion to the DEL 2. Lindau will have to get back on its feet as quickly as possible, because the next game is against EV Füssen.

For the Lions' fans, this day was a reason to celebrate, especially after the last convincing performance against the Onesto Tigers Bayreuth, who had shot the Islanders out of the stadium 9-1. But against Tölz, coach Bernd Waggoner brought the team back down to earth.

The coming days promise exciting encounters - among other things, Lindau will play against EC Peiting on Tuesday, while the Lions want to use their good form to continue to assert themselves in the upper region of the table.

Overall, it can be seen that the Oberliga continues to be a highly competitive area in which the Tölzer Löwen have made a clear statement with a strong performance. For more information, visit the website of Mercury, Swabian and Ice hockey statistics for further analysis and updates on the league.
