Brutal argument: Man is on trial for assault
A serious case of domestic violence is the focus of a current process in which a 40-year-old man was brought to trial due to assault. The accused is said to have harassed his wife both physically and mentally. This came to light when the victim reported brutal approach. In particular, the descriptions of the woman, which reported serious injuries and a struggle for survival, give rise to concern.
During the negotiation, the man confessed that his hand slipped in two places. Here he tried to talk himself out with an explanation: "It was only a reflex. She shouted at me and hit me first," he said, and also mentioned that he was alcoholic at the time of the attack and had taken painkillers. He even went so far to claim that he was contacted by the police for kidnapping due to an incident.
The brutally described experiences of the woman
In contrast to the defendant's explanations, the victim said that the attack took place without warning. "I came home with our child and was attacked for no reason," said the woman in tears. Her descriptions of the event are worrying: the accused is said to have beaten and encountered them so that she wanted to flee to the hallway. Her screams awakened the attention of the neighbors who alerted the police when they saw what happened.
The women's injuries were serious. Doctors diagnosed aggregals, bruises, bruises and a headplace wound. "He knows exactly what he did. He was anger and drunk," she described the situation and added that the children had heard the incident and screamed out of fear. These dark memories express the severity of the deed, and it becomes clear that this was not the first incident.
The legal consequences and the claims of the public prosecutor's office
The 40-year-old defendant has already had a burdened past with a total of 16 criminal records and previously served prison terms. Despite a good behavior in the past, according to his probation assistant, the prosecutor described the action as frightening: "It is incredible to combine a woman in this way in the presence of the children." He calls for a penalty of 16 months in prison.
In the meantime, the defense lawyer advocated another suspended sentence in order to give the defendant the opportunity to take advantage of addiction advice and to promote alcohol-free life.
The court decided to refrain from an immediate prison sentence. Instead, the one -year sentence was suspended for probation and the defendant has to undergo a one -year outpatient addiction advice. The decision of the court leaves space for hopes for an improvement, but the brutality of the crime and its effects remains in the memory.
