Lauterbach - The intercultural week in the Vogelsberg district under the motto "New rooms" promises a colorful program full of activities and interesting encounters. From Friday to Sunday, visitors can experience the variety of cultures in the Vogelsberg district. The aim of this event is to show new perspectives and to strengthen the intercultural initiatives in the region.
"This year exciting events await us again, from readings to sports festivals," report the coordinators Sonja Hartmann and Antonia Schäfer. The week starts with a reading with Souad Lamroubal under the title "Yallah Germany, we have to talk" on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the adult education center in Lauterbach. Particular attention is paid to the question of what real integration means and how it succeeds. Interested parties can take part on site and be there online. Admission is free of charge, but prior registration is recommended.

On Saturday, the event really takes off with a sports festival in the Schlosspark of Stockhausen, which is under the motto "Sport and inclusion for everyone". Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., guests can take part in activities such as archery, dance events, and football billiards. There is a bouncy castle for the younger ones, and the physical well -being is also taken care of. Another highlight of the weekend is the intercultural family festival organized by the AWO. From 2 to 6 p.m. there are various games in the Hofgut Rimbach, a creative workshop and many delicacies from oriental cuisine. Participation is free of charge and registration for the bus shuttle from Schlitz to Rimbach is recommended.
In addition, an intercultural fashion show will take place on Saturday in the Schotten multi -generation house, which offers exciting insights into different clothing styles from all over the world from 2:30 p.m. Interested parties are invited to register in advance.
A number of other events are on the program, including an informative lecture on Georgia, which is presented on Monday by Pastor Thorsten Backwinkel-Pohl. Also a afternoon of women on Tuesday in the Diakonie Lauterbach, in which women -specific conversations are the focus, and a reading for children on Tuesday offer great opportunities to get to know different cultures.
Under the motto "From the pots of the cultures", all cooking enthusiasts on September 28 are invited to prepare international courts together in the AWO Social Center Lauterbach. Another highlight is a citizens' festival in Alsfeld, which will take place from Friday to Sunday. Here the city twinning celebrates with Chaville in France and Amstetten in Austria.
The intercultural week is rounded off by a project week for children in October, in which young participants can discover their home in a playful way. This variety of events should not only inform, but also promote cohesion and solidarity between cultures.
