Science and art combined: Workshop on drawing research in Weimar
Weimar. An upcoming workshop that deals with scientific research and art historical analysis of drawings and graphics takes place in classic city. This two -day workshop is managed by nine experts and offers a platform for the discussion of modern art technological approaches.
scientific cooperation and cultural heritage
The Klassik Foundation Weimar organizes this important workshop in cooperation with the network for interdisciplinary cultural assistance in Germany (N.I.KE). The aim of the workshop, which takes place on August 15 and 16 in the Goethe National Museum, is to explore the limits and possibilities of current research-based methods. The event is offered free of charge and is aimed at everyone who has an interest in the scientific development of art objects.
extension for graphic collections
One of the essential innovations that will support current research projects and workshops is the planned expansion of the graphic collections of the Weimar Klassik Foundation. In the future, all 230,000 objects of the graphic collections will be kept centrally and scientifically supervised in this new building. This step is of great importance, since the presence of all collections in one place will enable deeper research and better material maintenance.

Annette Ludwig, the director of the management museums of the Weimar Foundation Foundation, emphasizes the important role of the workshop in the cooperation with the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Examination and the University of Jena. These partnerships aim to position Weimar as the center of the non -destructive material analysis, which is particularly important for the studies in drawings.
