Around 7 a.m., a vehicle skidded and crashed into the central barrier. Parts of the car then flew into the oncoming lane and triggered a chain reaction. As a result, a total of eleven vehicles collided, with the damage estimated at a six-figure amount. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, but the material damage amounts to around 75,000 euros. According to Tagesschau, a traffic jam of up to four kilometers formed in the northbound direction.
But that's not all: two hours after the first accident, another incident occurred at the end of the traffic jam. A truck hit two braking vehicles, causing one of the cars to end up in a ditch. The driver was slightly injured and had to be freed from the vehicle by the Baden-Baden fire department. The damage from this second accident is estimated at around 60,000 euros. Federal Highway 3 was also affected by the diversions, which significantly affected traffic in the entire area.
Danger of aquaplaning
