Parking in Baden-Baden: New tariffs from July shock drivers!

In Baden-Baden it will be expensive to park your own four wheels on July 1, 2025. The Parkgaragengesellschaft Baden-Baden mbH has adjusted the tariffs for short-term parkers. This price increase is intended to take into account the increased costs and increasing parking pressure in the city center. How Goodnews4 reported that from then on the hourly rates in the most important parking garages increased.

In the future you will pay 2.50 euros per hour for the Congress House Garage and the Vincenti Garage. The new savings tariff is particularly affordable and is available from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. for just 1.50 euros. The daily maximum has increased to 25 euros, while the night tariff remains at 6 euros. You can get even cheaper in the Festspielhaus garage, where you can park for 2 euros per hour and the savings rate here is 1 euro. The maximum daily rate for the Festspielhaus garage is 20 euros. The Cineplex car park has also adjusted its tariffs: an hour costs 1.50 euros and the maximum daily rate is 10 euros.

Long-term parking is also becoming more expensive

The prices for long-term parking will also increase from August 1, 2025. In the Kongresshausgarage and Vincentigarage 140 euros are due per month, while the Festspielhausgarage is still relatively cheap at 70 euros. The monthly price in the Falkenstrasse garage also increases to 105 euros, while the Cineplex car park remains in the lower price segment for 50 euros per month.

The parking garage company operates modern parking garages, underground garages and above-ground parking spaces in the city and offers a total of 1,759 parking spaces in the parking garages as well as 505 above-ground parking spaces and 622 P&R parking spaces. The company makes this information available, among other things, on its website, such as the Stadtwerke Baden-Baden website drank becomes.

Drastic increase for resident parking permits

But that's not all. From January 1, 2024, the price for resident parking permits will also increase significantly. BNN reports that annual fees will rise from 30 euros to an impressive 130 euros. Mayor Dietmar Späth can implement this increase on the basis of a new legal ordinance without involving the local council. A decline in demand of 10 percent is expected, but the city sees a potential of 100,000 euros more revenue per year.

There will be a 20 percent discount for people with a severely disabled person's permit, but the changes are met with mixed reactions within the population. The last review of the parking concept took place in 2019, and an adjustment is long overdue, argues the city administration. Ultimately, the fees should now be adjusted to the actual costs, which the city considers necessary.

Overall, it shows that the measures are not only intended to make parking more expensive in Baden-Baden, but also represent a step towards a more environmentally conscious transport policy. Whether these steps will bring the desired results will become clear in the coming months - but one thing is certain: Baden-Baden will be more expensive for drivers from next year at the latest.
