The 36th edition of the district senior council's writing competition was celebrated in Böblingen on November 13, 2025, which this year had the motto “Heart's Wishes”. A true celebration of creativity, with 70 participants submitting more than 75 entries. The award ceremony took place in a festive setting in the district office, where the commitment and diversity of the authors were honored. Whether young or old, participants ranged in age from 10 to 98, demonstrating once again that storytelling has no age limit.
Gabi Woerner was the chairwoman of the six-person jury to evaluate the submitted works. A total of 22 texts found their way into the award and were highlighted as particularly successful. The creative contributions, which revolved around the participants' heartfelt desires, reflected a wide range of emotions and personal experiences.
Creative diversity in focus
The event not only attracted the participants themselves, but also many interested parties who were enthusiastic about the creative diversity. “It’s great to see how people of all ages capture their wishes and dreams in words,” said Woerner. The atmosphere in the district office was characterized by a warm atmosphere and the exchange of the numerous stories that make life so colorful.
The works that were submitted this year show how complex the topic of heart's desires can be interpreted.
