Over 300,000 euros for new THW equipment in Böblingen and Leonberg!
The Technical Relief Agency (THW) in Böblingen and Leonberg can look forward to a hefty financial injection of over 300,000 euros from the federal government. These funds are intended for new equipment and are intended to significantly increase the operational capability of full-time and volunteer workers. How Krzbb reports, the new equipment is particularly important in order to be optimally prepared for use in the future.
In the last election period, a significant amount of over 420,000 euros was raised for new vehicles and trailers. In the current year, a further 315,000 euros can be invested in new vehicles, clothing and handheld radios. A new team truck worth around 180,000 euros will strengthen the THW in Böblingen and thus significantly support the ability to act in an emergency.
Nationwide support for the THW
More than 250 THW vehicles have already been delivered nationwide this year, and there should be a total of 380 vehicles by the end of the year. The purchase of at least 50 additional vehicles is planned for 2026. Particularly noteworthy is the procurement of new uniforms worth a total of 135,000 euros for the two local associations. THW relies on a high level of safety and professionalism in operations.
In order to optimize communication capabilities during operations, 4,000 new handheld radios worth three million euros were handed over to the THW this year, 258 of which remain in the Stuttgart regional office. The THW shows once again that it continuously takes care of the most modern equipment.
New location in focus
The acquisition of a larger property for the THW in Leonberg remains an open topic. This measure could help the organization to respond even better to the challenges and requirements in disaster protection.
The THW stands for well-organized and effective help that is characterized by constant development and equipment. Whether in Böblingen, Leonberg or elsewhere – support from the federal government is an important step into the future.
