After-school care center opening in Marbach: A dream for families becomes reality!

October 25, 2025 is a special day for the community of Marbach: A new after-school care center was inaugurated today at the elementary school, fulfilling a long-awaited wish. Mayor Irina Ebauer explained that this day was a great reason for joy for the residents. The need for an after-school care center has been discussed again and again since 2019, and now we can finally reap the fruits of our joint efforts.

In 2023, an application was submitted to improve the compatibility of family and work, which provided the impetus for setting up the new after-school care center. The planning for this began in October of the previous year, followed by a unanimous decision by the local council in February 2024 to build the after-school care center. The construction work, which took around six months, started in April 2024 and has now been successfully completed.

Investments for the future

The new after-school care center offers space for 25 children and is equipped with child-friendly furniture and leisure activities to create a pleasant environment. The total cost of the project is one million euros, with the city of Marbach investing 300,000 euros in the construction and the local budget providing around 20,000 euros. This project was realized in close collaboration with the school, parent representatives, the city administration and experts.

Mayor Jürgen Roth emphasized the great importance of the after-school care center for modern families. The challenges of balancing work and family are no longer new territory for many parents.
