St. Georgen City Festival: A weekend dream of music and enjoyment!

St. Georgen is preparing for an exciting weekend! This year's city festival will take place on June 28th and 29th, 2025 and will be celebrated in Gerwigstrasse and the adjacent schoolyards of the Robert Gerwig School. Mayor Michael Rieger will ceremoniously open the festival on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with a tapping of a barrel. The city has spruced itself up very well, as the renovation of the city center has largely been completed, even if the market square has not yet been fully occupied.

A colorful program awaits the guests: On Saturday, the city music will bring musical greetings to the stage from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., while in the afternoon traditional Thai dances will provide emotional moments. From 8 p.m., the Black Forest Quintet brings excitement into the night, followed by Dani Suara, the rousing DJ T-Bone and a children's disco. If you would like to get active yourself, you have the opportunity to join the hula hoop artist Steph Sparkles. Susannelle will model balloon figures for the little ones from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

A celebration for the whole family

Visitors can also look forward to numerous hands-on activities. These include a rose shooting range from the Rifle Guild, fishing and throwing games from the DLRG local group, a milking parlor with “Cow Olga” from the Brigach rural youth group, as well as a bungee trampoline and a football course. The traditional city festival run will also take place on Saturday, with the first runners doing their laps from 1 p.m.

On Sunday the festival continues at 10 a.m. with an ecumenical service. After the service there will be a varied program at 11:30 a.m. that includes performances by the Langenschiltach Trachtenmusikverein and the profile orchestra. Highlights will also include Rosalie from “The Voice Kids” and ventriloquist Michael Parez in the lower school courtyard. The raffle with prizes such as a cruise voucher awaits participants at 5 p.m.

Culinary delicacies and enjoyment

Of course, the culinary delights are not neglected either. 20 St. Georgen clubs spoil visitors with regional specialties, including currywurst, Schupfnudeln and wine. A variety of drinks are available to satisfy thirsty throats - from beer and wine to non-alcoholic refreshments.

The town festival is not only a tradition that goes back to the 1970s, but also a central part of cultural life in St. Georgen. In previous years the festival had to be canceled due to the pandemic, but now the celebration will certainly be a joyful occasion to strengthen the community and celebrate together.

In the region, the last weekend in June is celebrated not only in St. Georgen. The big city festival “950 Years of Calw” and the DonauquellFest in Donaueschingen also take place on the same weekend. These events also promise celebrations full of music, enjoyment and good cheer. There are celebrations everywhere – and St. Georgen is right in the middle of it all!

Be there when St. Georgen comes to life on June 28th and 29th and the streets are full of music, laughter and joy. Let's experience two wonderful days together!
