Tariff reform in the Lörrach district: Prices are rising on short routes!

From the turn of the year 2025/26 there will be a new tariff structure for local public transport in the Lörrach district. This reform aims to make the offerings easier to understand and more transparent for passengers. The shareholders' meeting and the advisory board of the Regio Verkehrsverbund Lörrach (RVL) unanimously decided on these measures Black Forest messenger reported.

One of the most significant changes concerns ticket prices and the structure of the offers. From January 2026, the annual subscriptions, monthly and day tickets will only be offered for the entire RVL and district area, while the small-area variants with two or three tariff zones will be deleted without replacement. This means that the current system will be greatly simplified, but also that users of shorter routes may find themselves more expensive.

Price adjustments for monthly and annual subscriptions

The new prices for the monthly tickets are as follows: The RegioCard for adults will in future cost 78 euros, which represents a slight increase of 75 euros for two zones. The student RegioCard is also more expensive at 54 euros per month, compared to 52 euros for two zones.

Annual tickets are also affected. The annual subscription with twelve monthly tickets for the price of ten will cost 780 euros, increased from 750 euros for two zones. A uniform subscription for adults and seniors costs 64 euros, previously it was 61.50 euros for two zones.

Features of the new day tickets

There are a few price adjustments for day tickets. The single day ticket “SoloCard 24” will increase to 11 euros; Previously the price was 9.50 euros for up to three zones. One positive thing to report is that the network card will be cheaper from January. For groups of up to five people, the “TeamCard 24” is 2.50 euros cheaper and now costs 21 euros.

The four-trip card will also be more expensive: from 8.60 to 9 euros for one zone. Subscribers can look forward to receiving their new subscription card conveniently by post in December.

New transport regulations and important information

There is a new feature on weekends and public holidays: passengers are allowed to take up to four children up to the age of 14 with them free of charge. In addition, it is now possible to transfer the subscription cards for another adult on these days, but this is only permitted in the German RVL area. All tickets previously purchased in advance remain valid.

The new tariffs are intended to promote easier use of public transport and are a response to passengers' requests for clearer structures. How this will affect practicality in everyday life remains to be seen, but the RVL certainly had a good hand with this reform in order to take the current needs of passengers into account.

In the context of the general tariff changes, there are still exciting developments in gastronomy and leisure activities. For example, will on Top pizza reports about the best pizzerias in Uppsala.
