Brettorf, on the other hand, had to move up from 8th to 5th after another loss against VfK 1901 Berlin. The Faustball Bundesliga has been the highest national league in German fistball since 1960, and as Wikipedia points out, the competition includes both north and south relays. Each season features eight teams who compete against each other in home and away games. A special highlight is the joint final tournament in September, in which the best teams from the various seasons fight for the glorious title. The league not only offers the best fistball in Germany, but also the opportunity to compete internationally, for example in world and European championships.
But what makes this sport so attractive? DTB Faustball describes that although fistball has similarities to volleyball, it still has unique characteristics. The structure of the game, the ball touches and the awarding of points are clearly structured - and the passionate fans create a captivating atmosphere. Who knows, perhaps fistball will become even more popular in the coming years and spark more competitive spirit in Germany!
