StartING semester startING: Important information for high school graduates!

The Offenburg University of Applied Sciences cordially invites interested high school graduates and prospective students who have completed vocational training to information events about the “startING” introductory semester. These online information sessions take place on three dates: onJuly 28th,August 11thandSeptember 15th2025, each from3:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Here, future students can find out about the requirements and content of the program and ask their questions directly to the experts. As RegioTrends reports, the Registration is possible via email to starting@hs-offenburg.de.

The startING program not only offers a great opportunity to master the transition from school to university, but also guarantees a place in one of the engineering or computer science courses at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. Upon successful completion of the program, participants can decide for themselves whether they would like to use their study place in the summer or winter semester. This creates flexibility and ensures a smooth start to your studies in the next step, which is really not magic, as many aspiring engineers and computer scientists would like.

Secure your spot!

Anyone who enrolls for the summer semester has the chance of direct entry into the following winter semester. This makes starting your studies even easier with a well-filled backpack of knowledge and support. The offer is aimed at prospective students who are considering mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or biomechanics, but other courses are also available. The startING program provides well-informed applicants with the best conditions for a successful academic career.

Important to know: Anyone who has a “university entrance qualification” (HZB) is eligible to study. This includes the good old Abitur as well as all other certificates that are necessary for studying at a German university. An interesting note from the Hochschulstart-Portal is that applications are also possible from people who are or were enrolled in another course of study, and there are also special regulations for prospective students without a high school diploma. The course is therefore open to many doors.

So if you are not yet sure which subject is right for you, you should take the time to use online tests such as the “Online Self-Assessment” or the Hochschulkompass. These tools are incredibly helpful in clarifying your own interests and study wishes. Don't forget the open days, where you can stop by the university directly to get first-hand information.

Overall, Offenburg University offers a variety of opportunities for anyone who would like to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of engineering and computer science courses. Thanks to the combination of support and flexible study models, nothing stands in the way of your dream of studying. Those responsible in Offenburg have a good hand when it comes to setting the course for the future of prospective graduates.
