On October 23, 2023, the Baden Winegrowers Association honored the best wine collections of the regional wine and sparkling wine awards for 2024/2025 in the picturesque Bronnbach Monastery. Around 120 guests from all of Baden's wine regions came to this festive event, where almost 1,100 wines and sparkling wines were submitted for awards. Rainer Zeller, the President of the Baden Winegrowers Association, opened the event with a clear commitment to the importance of winegrowers for the cultural landscapes and tourism in Baden-Württemberg.

SWR presenter Martin Seidler led the evening, supported by the Baden wine queen Tina Glur and association manager Holger Klein. This illustrious group celebrated the dedication and passion behind Baden's viticulture. The event was accompanied by a regional menu that harmonized perfectly with the award-winning wines.

Winner of the regional wine award

The awards range from honorary awards to the main prizes. In the sparkling wine category, the honorary award went to the Burkheim winemakers from Kaiserstuhl. The main prize for the highest rated collection of the year was deservedly awarded to the Wolfgang and Andreas Löffler winery from Staufen-Wettelbrunn. This success is not only an award, but also a sign of the quality and fine art of viticulture in the region.

As part of this celebratory ceremony, Ministerial Director Isabel Kling also presented state honorary awards to notable winemakers. In addition to the Löffler winery, the Gengenbach-Offenburg winery and the Volker Barth winery in Rauenheim received this valuable honor. Another highlight was the list of winners who were awarded gold and silver medals:

  • Affentaler Winzer Bühl-Eisental: 27 Gold, 8 Silber
  • Alde Gott Winzer Schwarzwald eG: 35 Gold, 1 Silber
  • Badischer Winzerkeller eG, Breisach: 25 Gold, 11 Silber
  • Burkheimer Winzer: 17 Gold, 5 Silber
  • Durbacher Winzer eG: 39 Gold, 4 Silber
  • Oberkircher Winzer eG: 83 Gold, 5 Silber

The Baden wine landscape

Baden is the third largest wine-growing region in Germany, with a total area of ​​15,727 hectares.
