Freiburg rocks: Tent Music Festival 2025 gets underway!
On July 16, 2025, the Tent Music Festival (ZMF) in Freiburg will enter its next round and usher in an exciting event season. This cultural event has been taking place at Mundenhof since 1983 and attracts around 120,000 visitors every year, who can look forward to a mixture of music, theater performances and many other attractions. The festival is not only a highlight for music lovers, but also a platform for cultural exchange and artistic performances like the one South Courier reported.
The ZMF offers a varied program over the entire event duration of 19 days. In addition to the main paid concerts, which take place in the circus tent and in the Badische Zeitung tent, guests can also expect an extensive supporting program that is open to the public. The program includes music groups, cabaret, dance, comedy and circus acts – all free of charge! A special children's program is offered on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. in the Badische Zeitung tent, making the festival ideal for the whole family.

Particularly noteworthy is the performance of Patti Smith on July 24th, who, with her years of experience and influence on rock music, is a central highlight of the festival.
Arrival and further information
The well-developed transport network in Freiburg ensures a comfortable journey. Visitors can easily reach the festival site using public transport such as tram line 3 or a shuttle bus. Drivers have the option of arriving via the A5, whereby a parking fee of 10 euros applies. From 9 p.m. this drops to 5 euros. If you want to be on the safe side, you should use the VAG park and ride offer to get to the festival comfortably and stress-free.
The tent music festival is considered one of the most popular events in Germany, which is reflected not least in the constantly increasing number of visitors.
