Schüttehof campsite: Season high with scouts and groups!
The 2025 camping season is underway on the Schüttehof campsite already in full swing in Horb. Operator Reinhold Kuch reports mixed visitor numbers, which were influenced by different weather conditions. The course saw a 23 percent increase in guests in May compared to the previous year, while visitor numbers in June fell by 8 percent due to cloudy weather.
In August 2025, however, the campsite will be well attended again. The space attracts particularly large numbers of groups, including generous numbers of youth and father-child groups. There are currently 200 scouts staying on the site who appreciate the idyllic location and the diverse leisure opportunities. The campsite offers 250 permanent camper pitches, 100 tourist pitches and five mobile homes, as well as wooden sleeping barrels, which are particularly popular with hikers and cyclists.
Diverse offers and challenges
The friendly staff, who look after the well-being of the guests, ensure a successful stay. Visitors praise the cleanliness and quiet location of the square. What is surprising, however, are the occasional disappointments with the restaurant. Long waiting times and sold-out food sometimes spoil the picture, although the surrounding leisure activities such as hiking and cycling sweeten the stay. Pincamp emphasizes that the tent meadow and the connections for water, electricity and sewage are rated well, while technical problems occasionally cause dissatisfaction. The place is also a paradise for animal lovers as it is considered dog-friendly.
The Schüttehof campsite stands out not only because of its offerings, but also because of its geographical location in the Black Forest, which offers numerous hiking and cycling opportunities. This trend is and remains part of the booming camping tourism in Germany. Loud Statista Camping holidays have become the preferred form of holiday for many Germans - around 13 million Germans already choose this form of travel.
Internationality and changes
An interesting observation at Schüttehof is that visits from international guests, particularly from Great Britain, have declined. The decline is likely to have something to do with leaving the EU and other economic factors. While the majority of guests continue to come from Germany, especially from Baden-Württemberg and Hesse, Switzerland and the Netherlands take second and third place among international visitors.
Overall, the Schüttehof campsite shows how dynamic the tourism industry is. With over 3,100 campsites in Germany, open spaces are an important part of the tourism industry. Martial artists could use one word to describe what makes the Schüttehof so special: “The atmosphere here is just right.” In the coming weeks it will be exciting to see how the season develops and whether the weather continues to favor the course.
