Maria Vollmer makes Dornstetten laugh – an evening full of humor!

A truly enjoyable evening took place in Dornstetten on October 26, 2025: Maria Vollmer thrilled people with her appearance as part of the autumn series “Culture in the Museum”. The event was a real source of fun and kept the audience laughing all the time. Vollmer, who used a mixture of humor, facial expressions, dance and singing, charmingly addressed the small challenges of life for people in the “middle age”. Folkloric anecdotes, such as those of her husband, who is back on the motorcycle in his old age, caused a hearty laugh. The artist also didn't miss out on the "grandchildren's expectations" discussions, as well as the bizarre disadvantages of wide-angle lenses for selfies.

After a short break during which the guests were entertained, the audience was able to marvel at a new aspect of Vollmer's skills: beatboxing. A special highlight of the evening was the tradition of “Christmas tree praise”, in which praised Christmas trees are rewarded with a sip of schnapps. This enjoyable practice has even expanded among friends to include even more unusual objects, such as Easter baskets and guest toilets.

The Dornstetter autumn market

While one event celebrated culture, visitors also went to the Dornstetter autumn market, which took place on the same day. The very special market opened its doors from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offered families an exciting experience with a children's carousel and numerous toy shops in the market square area. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors were able to browse and trade in local shops during Sunday shopping.

Along the main street, the market square and the Lower Main Street there are market and snack stands that leave no culinary wish unfulfilled. In order to enable visitors to travel comfortably, a free shuttle bus was available that ran every 30 minutes from the central bus station (ZOB) in Dornstetten. This offer included various stops, including in the districts of Aach and Hallwangen.

Cultural festivals strengthen community

Cultural festivals such as the Dornstetter Autumn Market and artist performances are not only entertaining, they also offer a deeper insight into the locally rooted traditions and customs. Such celebrations promote community cohesion and strengthen the sense of belonging. In Germany there are a number of cultural events that celebrate the diversity of society - from large folk festivals such as Oktoberfest to small traditional celebrations.

The regional identity and the cultivation of traditions are kept alive through these celebrations. The autumn market not only shows the city's economic activity, but also the unbroken value of community and culture. German festivals are also expanding with new cultural influences, contributing to the development of a dynamic festival culture that welcomes both locals and visitors.
