In a disturbing turn of events, the Heilbronn Regional Court has handed down harsh sentences to two defendants following a series of burglaries in the greater Heilbronn, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe areas. How Voice.de reports, 32-year-old K. was sentenced to four years and six months in prison, while his accomplice S. received a sentence of three years and six months. In total, the two were convicted of numerous burglaries in 33 and 14 cases respectively, and the court also ordered the confiscation of over 341,000 euros that they had stolen from their criminal activities.
The offenses took place between October 2024 and January 2025 and were mainly focused on private apartments in cities such as Bad Friedrichshall, Neckarsulm, Brackenheim and Bad Wimpfen. The two men had caused enormous damage, with a total stolen value of around 450,000 euros in jewellery, cash and other valuables, while the property damage was estimated at around 90,000 euros. Both defendants admitted that they often traveled together, but sometimes alone, to commit their burglaries.
Wave of burglaries in Heilbronn
Accordingly, the police have introduced a work area for serial crimes and are currently investigating possible connections between the recent burglaries. A residential area in Hardthausen-Kochersteinsfeld is particularly suspicious, where several break-ins took place in a short space of time. Police spokesman Frank Belz made it clear that the current wave of burglaries is all the more worrying after a year of declines in crime rates.
