Power outage in Neuenstein: Technicians work around the clock!

In the last few hours, the region around Neuenstein, Baden-Württemberg, has been struggling with power disruptions. On December 24th, 2025, at 1:28 p.m., citizens reported temporary disruptions in the power grid. The local network operator, Netze BW GmbH, is already on site with technicians to resolve the problems as quickly as possible. On the same day, at 1:27 p.m., it was announced that all disruptions in several districts had been resolved.

The following streets were affected by the disruptions:

  • Reutweg, OT Kleinhirschbach
  • Hauptstraße, OT Kirchensall
  • Schulstraße, OT Kirchensall
  • Sallstraße, OT Kirchensall
  • Künzelsauer Straße, OT Kirchensall
  • Tiergarten, OT Kirchensall
  • Haberhof, OT Wohlmuthausen
  • Webergasse, OT Kirchensall
  • Birnbaumweg, OT Kirchensall

Many people know that in Germany the power supply is on average continuous, with only a few minutes of outages per year. However, unplanned interruptions, often due to civil engineering work or weather events, can occur at any time. The good news: Citizens can now rely on a new, free notification service to communicate power disruptions. Netze BW is the first distribution network operator in Baden-Württemberg to introduce such a service. This provides information about the occurrence, course and end of the disruption.

New information options for residents

Registering for this service is easy in just three steps: via the Netze BW website or by scanning a QR code. For this you need the zip code, the meter number and an email address. These new digital information offerings are intended to help residents to be informed quickly if there are disruptions in the electricity supply.

The issue of security of supply is also important at the national level. The Federal Network Agency regularly publishes key figures on supply security, such as the SAIDIEnWG (System Average Interruption Duration Index), which records the average supply interruption per connected end consumer within a year. This data is important in order to be able to assess the quality of the electricity supply in Germany.

There are a few simple tips for anyone affected by a power outage: First, you should check whether the problem may only exist in your own home. In such a case, the electricity network operator's fault reporting page can be consulted. If you inform yourself in a timely manner, you will remain relaxed even in difficult situations.
