Heat wave on Lake Constance: where the highest temperatures are measured in Constance!
In the hottest time of the year, the thermometer in Constance shows record values. A current report by Südkurier that the outside temperature on August 6th at 1:50 p.m. is a whopping 28 degrees Celsius. Above all, the city center becomes a glowy: Reporter Moritz Stein has measured extreme temperatures in different places.
floor examinations at Augustinerplatz sometimes showed incredible values. Under direct sunlight, temperatures of up to 49.1 degrees Celsius were determined, while the floor in the shade of trees was comparatively pleasant with 27.7 degrees Celsius. The market site provided similarly dramatic results, where the floor on the Kaiserbrunnen in the shade showed only 24.5 degrees Celsius - in contrast to this, the temperature on the solar areas increased to over 40 degrees.
The dimensions of the heat
The German Environmental Aid (DHU) analyzed the heat suitability of almost 200 cities and Konstanz cuts with 47 % sealed areas and an inadequate green volume of 3.2 rather mediocre. In the heat statistics, Heilbronn and Ludwigsburg are at the bottom, while Tübingen and Baden-Baden achieve the best values.
The temperatures on Benediktinerplatz are particularly alarming, where the paving stones in the middle with impressive 52 degrees Celsius are noticed and the bench's wooden seat is even heated to 59.9 degrees. A pump track nearby even measures over 60 degrees Celsius and thus represents the hottest surface of the day.heat load in cities
A comprehensive examination of the heat flow index, which affects over 12 million people in German cities, has shown that almost a third of the 190 cities analyzed is on “red card”, which means highest heat load. Only 28 cities were able to shine with a "green card" for low heat load. These findings come from satellite data, which were evaluated in cooperation with the Potsdam Luftinte Environment Planung GmbH, as reported.
The negative effects of heat waves on the quality of life are becoming increasingly clear. The topic of heat in cities is increasingly focused on, but the need for action is huge. As on the platform for National Urban Development Policy , the heat loads through climate change are steadily increasing. A rethink is required: cities must be made more heat -like in order to meet the needs of citizens.
Soshould we become active? The question of how we can prepare ourselves against the increasing heat does not remain unanswered. Because right now it is more important than ever to develop suitable measures for cooling and more bearable living conditions so that the quality of life does not suffer any further. In this summer heat we all have to get a good hand to ensure well -being in the urban hotspots.
