The anticipation for the upcoming Christmas markets on Lake Constance is increasing! Starting in late November, the region transforms into a winter wonderland with festive lights and delicious treats. The Christmas market in Konstanz in particular attracts visitors with over 170 decorated huts and offers everything from mulled wine to traditional handicrafts. As reported by all-in.de, this special market opens on November 27th and lasts until December 23rd. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., although Sundays are shorter until 8 p.m. Traveling is easy by train, bus or ferry.
Another highlight is the “Bodensee Christmas” in Friedrichshafen, which opens on November 28th and lasts until December 21st. Here, a mulled wine pyramid and an impressive nativity scene enchant guests in front of a charming backdrop with a panorama of Lake Constance. For families, there is an extensive children's program in the Zeppelin Museum and interesting food offerings from Swabian classics to international delicacies. Opening times are Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and other days from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Amazing experiences in winter time
The Christmas market in Meersburg, which welcomes its visitors on the first weekend of Advent, November 28th, with lots of delicious Christmas treats and homemade offerings, provides a particularly festive part. You can stroll and feast here on two days, November 28th from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and November 29th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Another extraordinary experience is offered by the “Christmas Garden” on the island of Mainau, which will create a magical winter atmosphere from November 18th to January 5th, 2026. A breathtaking sea of lights stretches over 1.9 kilometers, while stalls offer a variety of food and mulled wine. Tickets cost between 15 and 31 euros, depending on the day of the visit. Opening times are daily from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with last entry at 8 p.m. Please note, the garden remains closed on special days such as Christmas Eve.
