Carnival in Lörrach: Fools' Guild relies on new parade route!

There is a lot of excitement in Lörrach because the carnival, which is a highlight of the year for many, is facing an important change. The Fools' Guild is planning to possibly move the traditional event to the regional trade fair site next year. The reason for this is previous discussions about requirements, approvals and the associated costs, which were initiated last year. But despite these challenges, there is also positive news. The approval process for the Jesters' Guild's carnival events is almost complete, and nothing stands in the way of the street carnival in 2025. Safety has been made the top priority when approving public spaces and streets, as the city of Lörrach says on its website reported. This also includes statements from the police, fire brigade and the German Red Cross, which take all necessary safety aspects into account.

New moving routes and safety requirements

A crucial point this year is the clear safety requirements that the organizers must implement. Within the framework of these requirements, measures to direct visitors as well as escape routes and access protection for rescue workers are essential. Permission has already been granted for the following events:

A significant change concerns the route of the carnival parade. This has been modified due to safety concerns and no longer runs past the hospital area, which will certainly please some residents and passers-by. Parts of the parade also take place outside the city center, which is secured with bollards, which makes additional security precautions necessary. The new route starts at Basler Straße/Herrenstraße and ends at Hebelpark, with the parade crossing numerous streets.

The city of Lörrach actively supports the event planning by providing vehicles and employees from the workshop as well as city green space.
