Chain robbery in Ludwigsburg: stubborn thief leaves a trail of wheels!
On the night of Friday, June 13, 2025, serious thefts occurred in Ludwigsburg, which brought the local police to the scene. As the Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports, an unknown perpetrator tried to steal several bicycles and scooters, which was an unpleasant experience not only for the victims but also for the residents.
An approach full of drama
The suspected thief, described as a young man between the ages of 18 and 20, scored a considerable number of misadventures. So he first tried to steal a parked scooter on Schwalbenweg. However, this failed, which not only resulted in the scooter tipping over, but also in a damaged VW. Things continued dramatically when the perpetrator, riding a light green “Bulls Sharptail 3” mountain bike, hit another scooter in the throttle path with the saddle of his bike in order to expose the ignition cables. But here too he was observed by a witness and fled.
The victims of the black “Focus” mountain bike were lucky in misfortune; This owner received his bike back after a timely report. The rest of the chaos didn't end without further obstacles: The perpetrator tried to steal a moped in Falkenweg, which also failed. He finally managed to do what he wanted on Nussackerweg - a moped worth several hundred euros was stolen and the perpetrator was able to escape with it.
The police are looking for witnesses
The police have now asked the public for help. Witnesses who have information about the crimes or who know the owner of the green mountain bike “Bulls Sharptail 3” are asked to come forward. These calls are particularly important today because the successful completion of investigations often depends on tips from citizens. Theft is a serious issue and has been on the rise in recent years, as statistics show.
According to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), numerous bicycle thefts were recorded in Germany between 2014 and 2024. The numbers have been steadily increasing and show that this is a widespread problem. A detailed look at the statistics shows that more and more people are affected - in many cities a “high price” is being paid for carelessness.
