An exciting step challenge under the motto #everythinggoes will be held in the Ludwigsburg district from October 1st to 31st, 2025. The aim of the initiative is to bring movement into the everyday lives of citizens and strengthen the community. Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in the county is invited to participate. Registration for the challenge is possible from September. Complete information and a calendar of events are available on the district website.

Participants can easily document their steps using the Teamfit app, available for Apple and Android devices. This app is ideal for recording daily progress and competing against other groups in separate teams. In addition to the steps challenge, the district offers various activities related to walking, such as “walk and talk” and the “walking café”.

Walking café and themed trails

A special highlight of the “walking café” are the guided themed walks, which citizens can explore independently. This promotes being on the move together and the focus is on exchange. Each walk ends in cafés, beer gardens or other cozy locations where participants can end the day with a drink.

The themed trails organized by the district office focus on aspects such as forests, health and culture. A special event will take place on Monday, August 4th - ecologist Günter Schlecht will lead through the Hartenecker Feld and explain the ecological diversity and agricultural care to the participants.

Community and active mobility

In addition to the existing activities, the Steps Challenge is also intended to help strengthen the community in the Ludwigsburg district and beyond. In this context, the district is cooperating with the Heilbronn district for the first time in order to further expand the exercise options. The city of Ludwigsburg is also a member of the AGFK-BW (Association of Bicycle and Pedestrian Friendly Municipalities in Baden-Württemberg e.V.), a network that is committed to active mobility and has formulated a goal for 2030: walking and cycling should become the first choice of mobility.

The Steps Challenge fits perfectly with efforts to promote physical activity, which not only support local initiatives but also address national issues. A follow-up event to the round table on exercise and health took place in March 2025, at which 13 institutions declared their future participation. The Federal Ministry of Health reported on measures to improve the general conditions and the visibility of the topic of exercise.

The steps challenge #everything goes not only offers an incentive for physical activity, but also an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people and maintain social contacts. If you want to take advantage of the opportunity, you shouldn't miss out on taking part!
