Full closure of L1125: construction work from June 22nd will bring traffic chaos!

From June 22, 2025, the L1125 state road between Großsachsenheim and Bietigheim-Bissingen will be completely closed for extensive renovation work. This measure covers a distance of around three kilometers and affects the section between the intersection of Industriestrasse/L 1125 and the junction L 1125/K 1636 (Kayhstrasse). This is a response to safety concerns, as a half-sided construction is simply not possible, as the Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports.

The start of construction is initiated by a bomb sounding at the junction with Industriestrasse. The renovation is divided into two construction phases. First, the route between Kayhstrasse and the junction with Industriestrasse will be closed; The Holderbüschle industrial area and the JET gas station remain accessible from the direction of Sachsenheim. A diversion will be set up for heavy traffic via Vaihingen/Enz and the B 10.
In the second construction phase, which is scheduled to take place during the summer holidays, a further full closure between Industriestrasse and Ludwigsburger Strasse is planned for around two weeks. The exact dates for this will be announced later.

Extensive renovation work in detail

The renovation work includes the renewal of all asphalt layers, safety measures on the embankments as well as the renovation and construction of drainage facilities. In addition, a crossing aid for bicycle traffic will be built on the Mühlsteig. These comprehensive measures are necessary to ensure a modern and safe transport infrastructure, in which the state of Baden-Württemberg is investing around 2.2 million euros.

Parallel to these construction sites in the region, there is also a fiber optic expansion in Sachsenheim, which provides 652 households and 129 companies with future-proof connections. This expansion is taking place as part of the project of the Ludwigsburg District Broadband Association, which was launched in 2019. The goal is to create a comprehensive broadband network infrastructure in the district by 2030. NetCom BW was awarded the contract for the expansion, which began in June 2024. Funding totaling over 1 million euros from the federal broadband funding program is being used, among other things.

Events to improve infrastructure

Given the ongoing construction sites and investments in infrastructure, it is essential that residents and road users are informed in a timely manner about changes in traffic routing and diversions. Detailed information is available on the websites of the affected municipalities and at the Stuttgart regional council. No market is left without something to offer, so a future-proof connection is also ensured in the areas of mobility and the Internet.
